Tokai University, Department of Radiation Oncology, School of Medicine


The Tokai University Department of Radiation Oncology offers patients access to cutting-edge technologies for adult and pediatric tumors, including stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), IMRT, and IGRT. Brachytherapy programs are also available for patients with gynecologic cancer.

Department clinicians attend 8 tumor boards, and discuss treatment strategy with clinicians of other departments.
State-of-the-art facility equipped with new Varian accelerators (2 Clinac21Ex, 1 TrueBeamSTx with Novalis system).

Number of patients treated was over 1000 a year

Radiation Oncology residency
 Joint program with Diagnostic Radiology department
 Three years after intern to be a board certified Radiological Scientist and additional two years to be a Radiation Oncologist.

Undergraduate clinical clerkship
 Over 50 medical students rotate our department every year, and learn general principles of Radiation Oncology.

Graduate medical physics program
 Accreditated program from Japanese Board Medical Physicist Qualification
 Aiming to be a medical physicist
